Northwestern Hosts Screening of Movie Hidden Figures

Winsted, CT – In celebration of Black History Month, CT State Northwestern is presenting the film Hidden Figures on Thursday, February 22, 6:45 p.m. in Founders Hall Auditorium, 4 Park Place, Winsted. The screening is free and open to the public.Hidden Figures Film

Hidden Figures was originally released in 2016 and is based on the book by Margot Lee about three African American female mathematicians employed by NASA during the space race. The film stars Taraji P. Henson, Octavia Spencer, and Janelle Monae, as well as Kevine Costner and Kirsten Dunst. Hidden Figures was the highest grossing best picture nominee at the 2017 Academy Awards and received a 93% rating from Rotten Tomatoes.

The screening is hosted by Northwestern’s History Club and Computing and Analytics Club and is sponsored by the Northwestern Cultural Committee, which receives funding from the Northwestern Foundation.
