LOCAL CLASSES

Continuing Education business classes are designed to help you learn a skill, earn a certificate, and get a great job in a new field! Take a look at the classes we offer on campus below. These courses typically run in the spring and fall semesters, and you can RSVP to be notified when the next class is scheduled if all the seats are full.

REAL ESTATE

The Real Estate Principles and Practices course is a great way to learn how to buy and sell real estate. The course is required if you want to take the Connecticut Real Estate License. Typically held in 3 hour classes, twice a week, this course exceeds the 60 hour requirement outlined by the state.

QUICKBOOKS BOOKKEEPING COURSE

This Quickbooks and bookkeeping course is designed to help beginners learn how to navigate Quickbooks online tools to manage budgets for personal finance or small business applications. In addition to learning the accounting software, you’ll also learn the best bookkeeping practices.

DEEP SAFE BOATING COURSE

In this 3 day class, your Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) instructor will teach you everything you need to know to obtain your Safe Boating Certificate. Topics include boat operation, proper water navigation, state & federal regulations, how to handle emergencies on the water and more!

PRE-MANUFACTURING PROGRAM

In this FREE class (sponsored by the Northwest Regional Workforce Investment Board) you’ll learn tools to get you started in a manufacturing career including measurement, workplace safety, basic benchwork, intro to blueprint reading, manufacturing concepts and manufacturing math!

With our partner, Ed2Go, you’re able to access learning that we don’t yet offer on campus! We have hundreds of 6-week classes to help you get started in topics from business to IT to photography, even learn a language!

If you’re looking for a more serious class, we also offer certificate courses to get you a great job in tech, hospitality, health & fitness, legal work, and more. These 6-13 month courses will provide you the license, certificate, or ability to take the tests required to work in your field of choice.
