CT State Northwestern Offers Safe Boating Course

Winsted, CT – The Office of Workforce Development at CT State Northwestern is pleased to announce a CT Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) Safe Boating Course will be held Tuesday, July 9 and Thursday, July 11, 5 to 9 p.m. in the campus Arts and Science Building, 209 Holabird Ave., room 205. The cost for the program is $25.

The DEEP instructor will provide all information needed to obtain a safe boating certificate, which includes topics on boating operation, proper waterway navigation, state and federal regulations, and handling emergencies on the water. Successful completion of the class will qualify students to purchase a Personal Watercraft Operation certificate via the Online Sportsmen Licensing System, allowing them to operate any recreational vessel up to sixty-five feet in length.
