WINSTED, CT – August 27, 2019 – In its just released report, 2019’s Best & Worst Community Colleges, the website WalletHub, has rated Northwestern Connecticut Community College as the top ranked Community College in Connecticut, for the fourth consecutive year.

In order to determine the best community colleges in the U.S., WalletHub’s analysts compared the 710 selected schools and evaluated them based on three key dimensions, 1) Cost & Financing, 2) Educational Outcomes and 3) Career Outcomes.

Additionally, NCCC was also identified as the number one ranked community college in the entire country for having the Lowest Student-Loan Default rate. Dan Roberts, NCCC’s Financial Aid Enrollment Management Specialist, confirmed that the U.S. Department of Education’s Cohort Default Rate College Database shows NCCC’s Student-Loan Default rate is currently at zero percent.

Dr. Michael Rooke, President of Northwestern Connecticut Community College, in response to these results stated, “Four years in a row is certainly something to be proud of.  The people of Northwest Connecticut have always known how great a value we are, as an economic development engine of this region, but it is always good to get confirmation from the outside.  I congratulate all of the dedicated faculty and staff, students, Foundation members and community supporters on this wonderful achievement.”
