Parents & Family Resources

Welcome Parents & Family,

Starting college is an exciting time, but we also know the transition can be a source of uncertainty for both students and their families. To help families in supporting their students, we created this page of helpful information covering a variety of topics such as campus resources and programs, college life, paying for college, and learning in the virtual environment.

As a parent or family member, your support is key to your student’s success at Northwestern Connecticut Community College, so we encourage you to review the information provided above and to attend the Family Orientation session.

In the fall semester, amid coronavirus precautions, Northwestern Connecticut Community College will be offering a large number of classes online, either synchronously or asynchronously, as well as hybrid, flexible and some traditional classes and labs.  With social distancing requirements and personal protective equipment (PPE), the College will provide the safest possible learning environment that we are able as we navigate the current pandemic.

Please understand that news regarding the public health situation in CT changes frequently so continue to check our website for updates.  If you have any academic questions or concerns, please let me know and I am glad to be of assistance.

Sincerely,
