Placement into courses is best using multiple measures, so students may submit any of the following to their Application Account:

    • Self-reported high school GPA submitted on the application or emailed to admissions@nwcc.edu.
    • Official transcripts must be submitted directly from your previous institution to Northwestern. Please complete the required Credit Evaluation Form as well.
    • Your final or in-progress high school transcript that includes a cumulative GPA.
    • SAT Math and SAT Evidence-Based Reading and Writing. (Reports do not need to be sent officially from College Board. You can create a PDF from their site which includes your name and test date. Here is a video that may be helpful.)
    • ACT Math and ACT combined Writing and Language
    • Connecticut GED scores
    • A grade of C or better in college math and English classes (official transcripts must be submitted)
  • If you do not have ANY of the above, please reach out to Laura McCarthy, LMcCarthy@nwcc.edu, for a placement test.

  • Click “Need your initial password” for instructions before you first log in. NOTE: if you did NOT provide an SSN, you will need to start by resetting your password HERE.
  • You will be asked to create a one-time authentication. You may choose “I want to set up a different method” to set up your phone, email, or security questions.
  • If you need help signing in, you can call (860) 723-0221 (open 24hrs) or (860) 738-6367 during business hours (8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. M-F).
[/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”STEP 3: Apply for financial aid” tab_id=”FinancialAid”]
  • If you require financial aid, you must be a degree-seeking student and complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
  • All students interested in PACT (debt free-college), must complete a FAFSA.
  • For detailed instructions on applying for Financial Aid at www.studentaid.gov, please visit our Financial Aid Page. If you have questions, please call (860) 738-6326. Undocumented students can apply for AACTUS financial aid HERE.
