Marketing Students Collaborate with NCCC on Social Media Project
WINSTED, CT - November 28, 2017 – Students from the Northwestern Connecticut Community College Business program have been spearheading a semester-long project on Social Media Use and Best Practices as part of their Principles of Marketing course.
The Social Media project is a team based, semester-long intensive activity that provides the Marketing Students with invaluable experience as social media marketing consultants for a real organization.
Under the guidance of Stacey Williams, Associate Professor of Business and Tara Jo Holmberg, Professor of Biology and Environmental Sciences, the Marketing students - Jonah Barrios, Erin Garlasco, Heather Hughes, Kristen Kandefer, Joy Kinsky, Eric Mayerjak, and Sue Williams - have assembled and participated in a focus group, analyzed actual data from the College’s social media presence on engagement, reach, website traffic and numerous other metrics. They have also performed an extensive benchmarking effort and have developed a manual of Social Media Best Practices that is customized to Northwestern Connecticut Community College’s brand and audience.
As the semester enters the final weeks, the Marketing students will launch an Instagram giveaway contest with real prizes, which will encourage participants to submit a photo, follow nccc_ct on Instagram, and use a contest hashtag. Stay Tuned!Back
