TEAS Information

Important Information About TEAS
Q: What is the TEAS?
A: The TEAS (Test of Essential Academic Skills) is a multiple choice test that evaluates the following skills: math, science, reading & English. The objectives assessed on the TEAS exam are those which nurse educators deemed most appropriate and relevant to measure entry level skills and abilities of nursing program applicants.

Q: What version of the test is acceptable?
A. (Test of Essential Skills) TEAS V

Q: What score do I need to be eligible for the nursing program?
A: Applicants must obtain an adjusted individual total score of 53.3% or higher on the TEAS V to be considered for admission. This new cut score was thoughtfully determined by a scientific process facilitated by ATI, the company who created the TEAS. Applicants with questions regarding this scientific method may contact ATI at comments@atitesting.com.

Q: How do I register to take the TEAS?
A. For testing schedules and registration, go to www.atitesting.com. You must create a username and password to register. If the TEAS is taken at a site other than one of the Connecticut Community Colleges, applicants must have official results sent by ATI to the college of first choice by the application deadline.

Q: How many times can I take the TEAS?
A: Applicants may re-take the TEAS as many times as desired. The CT-CCNP will use the applicant’s highest TEAS V score when determining eligibility.

Q.  What do I need to bring on the day of the test?
A.  You must bring a photo ID or you will not be able to take the test.  Please bring your user name and password that you created when you registered for the test.  Please bring the receipt from the Registrar’s Office (see question #7).  Pencils and scrap paper will be provided.  Calculators, food, drink and mechanical pencils and pens are NOT ALLOWED
