SNAP Scholarship Information

Training for SNAP recipients

The SNAP Employment and Training Program is a federally-funded initiative that provides scholarships for SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) recipients to receive the training needed to obtain jobs. These scholarships are administered at the State level via the Department of Social Services (DSS).

Persons receiving SNAP assistance may be eligible to take one of NCCC’s 5 in-demand workforce training programs for free. These programs include: 

Certified Nurse Aide CNA
Office Support Professional
Web Developer
Manufacturing Solderer
Emergency Medical Technician EMT
Veterinary Technologists and Technician
Pharmacy Technician
Preschool Teacher
Psychiatric Technician
Medical Assistant
Nurse
Direct Support Professional
Elder Care Assistant
Computer Network Support Specialist
Medical Records and Health Information Technician

Note: SNAP recipients receiving TANF (Temporary Aid to Needy Families) funds are not eligible for the NCCC scholarship.
