Training for SNAP recipients

The SNAP Employment and Training Program is a federally-funded initiative that provides scholarships for SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) recipients to receive the training needed to obtain jobs. These scholarships are administered at the State level via the Department of Social Services (DSS).

Persons receiving SNAP assistance may be eligible to take one of NCCC’s 5 in-demand workforce training programs for free. These programs include Certified Nurse Aide (CNA), Pharmacy Technician, Microsoft Office Suite with Bookkeeping QuickBooks Certificate, Elder Care Assistant, and Direct Support Professional.

Note: SNAP recipients receiving TANF (Temporary Aid to Needy Families) funds are not eligible for the NCCC scholarship.
